La Cochette 2 is a south-facing Alpine style chalet apartment residence with magnificent views situated in the heart of Vaujany. La Galerie Marchande with its supermarche,boulangerie,ski-hire,restaurants and bar are less than a minute walk in a pedestrianised area. A walk across the Galerie Marchande to the covered escalators takes you rapidly to the lift station. There is an excellent nursery (6months-5yrs incl.) situated close to the cable car station.
Vaujany is a traditional and charming Alpine village situated at 1250m facing the Massif des Grandes Rousses. Vaujany offers state-of-the-art facilities whilst retaining its rustic, mountain ambiance. Linked with the ski domain of Alpe d'Huez, one of the most extensive in Europe, Vaujany can offer serious skiing for the experienced skier and the opportunity for family skiing on gentler slopes.
Vaujany has a superb sports centre with gym, swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi ideal for relaxing after a hard day's skiing! Or try the open-air ice rink floodlit in the evenings. There are several restaurants and bars each providing a warm welcome. There is also a programme of entertainment in the village which changes weekly.
The 160 person gondola lifts you from Vaujany station into a vast ski domain of 3000 hectares with 236km marked piste at altitudes up to 3330m. 700 snow cannons ensure good conditions throughout the season. Vaujany with its own system of pistes at Montfrais links with the resort of Alpe d'Huez and its satellite villages. Mountain restaurants abound serving high quality refreshments. There is an excellent ski-school (ESF) and guiding service.
